About
North Valley Baptist Church exists to glorify our God through a life of worship and obedience to Him.
This includes proclaiming the Gospel in order to make disciples of Jesus Christ, baptizing believers and teaching God's Word, so that disciples grow in loving obedience to their Lord; who saves all who trust in Christ alone for salvation, by no merit of their own, but only based on the person
and finished work of Jesus Christ, our Lord.
We believe that it would be most accurate to label North Valley Baptist Church as a
Reformed Dispensational Baptist Church. The Second London Baptist Confession of 1689 is, in general, an accurate representation of what we believe, with some exceptions. We hold, firmly, to the sovereignty of God over all, the authority of Scripture as the infallible and inerrant Word of God, and the final authority for faith and practice. We, firmly, believe in all the doctrines of grace (nicknamed "Calvinism" and often recognized by the acronym TULIP) as taught in the Scriptures. We hold to the regulative principle of worship, and our church polity is not congregational, but instead, we see the clear teaching of Scripture to be that God designed the church to be lead by a plurality of qualified elders.
We are dispensational in that we believe the same literal, historical, and grammatical interpretation of the Bible that leads us to believe in the tenets of our faith, that would be considered Reformed, also leads us to see that the Bible teaches that there is a distinction between God's chosen nation, Israel, and the Church, and that there will be a premillennial return of Christ to establish His earthly reign for a thousands years, after which time He will hand His earthly Kingdom over to God the Father, as then the Triune God will reign in the eternal state of the New Heaven and New Earth.
We are a Bible believing church that is committed to the verse by verse, expositional, teaching and preaching of the Scriptures.
All ministries of the church will be initiated, supported, and evaluated in light of the biblical teaching and application of God’s Word, as the final authority.
This church is autonomous and maintains the right to govern its own affairs, submitting to Christ as its head, and the leadership of the elders who exercise the oversight of the church in all matters, being subject to the Scriptures as the rule of faith and practice.
